Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary: Negotiable Depending on Experience
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Office-Based (Glossop, Derbyshire, UK)

Pressure Tech is a rapidly growing engineering company specialising in high pressure regulators and valves, used primarily in the Oil and Gas sector. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on product design and development covering our extensive range of products, as well as developing and designing new product concepts. The successful applicant will take an active role in product development, with product assembly and hands-on testing of new designs being an essential component of the role, alongside the ability to write clear and concise test procedures to support the release of these products to market.
The role is office-based (Glossop, Derbyshire, UK), full-time and permanent.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree;
  • Minimum of 2 years mechanical design experience in a pressure-related industry, e.g. valves, pumps, pressure regulators;
  • Product design experience;
  • Knowledge and understanding of pressure equipment operation and functionality;
  • A good understanding of hydraulics and fluid handling systems would be advantageous, as would knowledge of ASME 16.34 and 31.3;
  • A High level of competence in using Autodesk Inventor and Vault;
  • Ability to perform FEA and CFD would be advantageous;
  • Ability to create 2D drawings in line with company standards;
  • Ability to support design with manual calculations;
  • Understand various material properties, with ability to recognise potential suitability;
  • Understand product "life" and importance of product validation;
  • Analytical with an enquiring mind, with the ability to find solutions to problems;
  • Able to work independently and to manage several tasks at once;
  • Able to work at a good pace and respond to deadlines;
  • Flexible approach to work and problem solving;
  • An interest in research and development, and in ensuring that products meet with customers’ expectations.

CNC Operator/Programmers - Sliding Head and Multi-Axis Machines
Pay: Competitive Depending on Experience (40hrs Per Week)

Pressure Tech manufacture high pressure regulator valves in stainless steel for the oil and gas market and have over 1000 parts used in the assembly of our products. We have a vacancy for a number of skilled CNC programmers/operators for our sliding head and multi-axis machines.
Other Duties Include:
  • Setting and operating a range of CNC machines, including Citizen Sliding Head A32/L32 models and Hardinge Quest multi-axis machines
  • Programming using Mitsubishi/ISO and Fanuc controls respectively
  • Producing components to required tolerances and quality standards, right first time
  • Finishing components to the highest quality standards
  • Identifying and recommending programme amendments to improve efficiency and/or quality
  • Making authorised amendments to CNC programmes to meet component design requirements
  • Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet the required quality standards
Requirements:
  • Experienced CNC programmer, setter and operator of sliding head and/or multi-axis machines
  • Experience of programming using Mitsubishi/ISO and/or FANUC controls will be beneficial
  • Qualified through apprenticeship or HND
  • Able to manufacture precision components from fully understanding engineering drawings in terms of tolerances, surface finish etc.
  • Experience of CMM desirable
  • Methodical and focused approach to work

  • Able to work well under pressure

International Business Development Manager
Salary: £Negotiable Depending on Experience
Location: Field-Based (Office is Glossop, Derbyshire, UK)

We are looking to recruit an International Business Development Manager to strengthen and develop sales of our high-quality pressure regulators worldwide — both via key direct accounts and a network of Authorised Resellers. Applicants must have a strong strategic approach to sales with clear evidence of a successful career within a global technical sales environment. Our core business is within the Oil and Gas sector but there are growing opportunities to capitalise on within the Hydrogen Fuel Cell market — predominantly around the Automotive sector. The successful applicant will have full responsibility to penetrate these markets and travel extensively throughout the world, hence the ability to speak a second language (preferably German) would be a strong advantage.
Other Duties Include:
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan for the allocated territory that meets objectives and maximises ROI;
  • Identify and exploit new business opportunities;
  • Build strong relationships with existing customers to increase sales by securing maximum spend from each account;
  • Respond to customer enquiries and follow up promptly and effectively;
  • Follow up quotations to maximise conversion to sales orders;
  • Provide appropriate technical information to enable customers to make an informed product choice;
  • Attain high levels of customer satisfaction through timely and appropriate communications;
  • Provide customer feedback to other departments to maintain a customer-centric approach throughout our business.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified individuals with an excellent background in mechanical engineering;
  • Extensive knowledge of valves within the Oil and Gas and/or Automotive market;
  • A strong strategic approach to sales with an ability to formulate and present an annual sales plan based on agreed objectives, analytical research and own industry knowledge;
  • Ability to speak a second language (preferably German);
  • A self-motivated, goal orientated individual with an attention to detail to actively identify and pursue new opportunities to maximise the sales potential of new and existing accounts;
  • An excellent communicator who can build strong and durable customer relationships;
  • A team player who can work effectively with other departments to meet customer needs.
