We're Hiring: Accounts & Admin Assistant Looking for a new role? We're hiring!
Are you (or do you know someone who is) looking for an exciting new challenge in a growing small business? We might just have the perfect role!
We are looking for a full-time Accounts & Admin Assistant with bookkeeping experience and excellent attention to detail.
This is a brand new role within Pressure Tech Ltd, which will work closely with our Company Accountant and Sales & Purchasing Coordinator.
Take a look at the DETAILS HERE or APPLY HERE by emailing across your CV.
Two New Investments in Equipment Two recent investments will make significant improvements to our in-house manufacturing and servicing capabilities here at Pressure Tech Ltd.
Our new Ash Vision OMNI 3 Digital Microscope provides high resolution images of microscopic parts in 100+ times magnification, making it ideal for capturing supporting evidence of our findings on regulators returned for servicing. We are now able to provide these HD images to our customers to highlight the root cause of any regulator damage caused by small particles of contamination.
Secondly, every product supplied by Pressure Tech has a unique serial number with full traceability of all components used in the assembly of the pressure regulator. Our new Pryor Dot Peen machine quickly and precisely marks both individual components and the complete pressure regulator assembly with a permanent identification - this was previously chemically etched or stamped manually. The machine scans internal works orders from our MRP system to extract the required information to be marked on the components, eliminating any human error from the process and reducing marking times ten-fold.
ISO 9001 Re-Certification Audit Last week our certification body, DNV, conducted our ISO 9001 re-certification audit. We are pleased to announce that we passed the process with an excellent audit result!
We have a 'quality' mantra running throughout our business, so this re-certification is a great confirmation that the processes put in place are helping to ensure we maintain our important ISO 9001 status.
A great effort by our Quality Manager, Mark Cooper, and the rest of the Pressure Tech Ltd team for supporting the audit requirements!
Introducing Sam Walland! For those customers who have not yet spoken to him, we would like to introduce you to our newest Sales Engineer, Sam Walland, who started at Pressure Tech in March 2021.

Department for International Trade Case Study MAINTAINING THE PRESSURE ON SUCCESS IN NORWAY
Glossop based Pressure Tech discuss securing major projects in Norway and the ongoing support they receive from the Department for International Trade (DIT).
Glossop based Pressure Tech manufactures high-quality ISO-9001 accredited pressure regulators traditionally used in the oil and gas sector on critical high-pressure control systems such as wellhead control panels, gas analyser systems and hyperbaric diving systems. Over the past two or three years their product range has expanded to include pressure regulators for hydrogen fuel cell applications such as passenger and commercial vehicles, drones, bikes, and material handling applications such as forklift trucks.
Their customer base is worldwide, supported by a growing global network of Authorised Resellers, with a particularly strong network throughout Europe. For the past two years their Norwegian reseller has been the strongest performing European reseller account, securing some major projects through a combination of product and industry knowledge, network of contacts and customer service.
Managing director, Steve Yorke-Robinson explains: "Norway is absolutely a market of interest to us. Several of the world’s leading OEMs for Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs), Intervention Workover Control Systems (IWOCs) and Chemical Injection Systems are located in Norway, and these applications are key targets for our hydraulic pressure regulators in particular. In addition, Norway is a leader in subsea technology, so we expect the demand for our subsea pressure regulators to increase over the coming years and decades."
The drive for renewable energy sources is also one that is gathering pace in most European countries, and the company see no reason why Norway would not be part of that. They will be looking to identify further prospects in the hydrogen fuel cell market to continue developing their share of that sector via their expanding H2 product portfolio.
Steve has welcomed the support he receives from the Department of International Trade (DIT). "Kathryn Borg, our International Trade Adviser (ITA), has been very supportive and provides regular updates on any export opportunities or support available to increase our export business. Having worked with Kathryn over many years, she understands our products and the markets we are targeting, which allows her to forward any specific areas of interest and make the relevant introductions."
The company were keen to see a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in place. "Having a FTA in place with our customers is important for a number of reasons, namely; to allow quicker movement of goods; minimise the amount of administration costs and paperwork, and ultimately to ensure our pricing remains competitive in a globalised market place. With over 30% of our business being within the EU, it is important to Pressure Tech and our customers that a FTA is in place to maintain our growth objectives."
Pressure Tech have typically achieved year-on-year sales growth of around 10% and are looking to push beyond this growth in the current financial year. Of total sales, approximately 70% of the business is export, and of that figure, roughly 20% is to Norwegian accounts.

MP Robert Largan Visits Pressure Tech Last week, it was our pleasure to welcome local Member of Parliament, Robert Largan, to Pressure Tech Ltd to discuss the opportunities and challenges we are encountering following a 50% increase in sales order entry levels this year.
We have been located in the High Peak, Robert’s constituency, for 15 years and have expanded into industrial units on the same estate throughout this period. With such rapid growth and major expansion planned over the coming months, I took the opportunity to highlight the difficulties in finding suitable property due to lack of development of industrial facilities in the local area.
With a long overdue bypass around Glossop expected to improve traffic congestion in the next 3 years, and house building continuing to develop at a fast rate, the lack of commercial property needs to be addressed to help support local employers with their expansion plans, and to ultimately employ more local residents.
I also took the opportunity to tell Robert about our success in the Green Hydrogen Fuel Cell market, with a recent order secured for 2000 pressure regulators being exported to a key customer in the USA.
Petronash Excellent Rated Performance We are proud to announce PETRONASH rated our supplier performance as ‘EXCELLENT’ in 2020!
The rating takes into account our on-time delivery, product quality and customer service throughout the year.
Great work by the entire team at Pressure Tech, and thank you to Petronash for the acknowledgement of our overall performance.
Walter Conducts Site Visit to Remedy Customer Issue Walter Koh, our Sales Manager for SE Asia and China, recently conducted a site visit to review a customer's application and help resolve performance issues with their existing set-up.
With two spring-loaded pressure regulators on an Argon process line, our customer experienced droop at 1,500Nm³/hr flow rate as the supply pressure gradually decreased from 200 bar to 100 bar, while trying to maintain outlet pressure at 40 bar - this was not acceptable for their process requirement.
Droop is a natural occurrence in spring-loaded regulators due to the change in the compressive load properties of the spring as the regulator opens and closes.
We recommended to change their existing regulators to our dome-loaded HF301, using supply pressure to charge the dome via our LF540 pilot regulator.
Our customer was under a tight deadline to complete their FAT. We supplied two dome-loaded HF301 pressure regulators within 6 weeks lead time to meet client’s schedule.
It was a great team effort between the Pressure Tech Ltd Sales, Design, Manufacturing, and Assembly teams to provide a perfect solution to our customer's application.

Pressure Tech Customer Recommendation We take pride in everything we do here at Pressure Tech Ltd, and always try to go the extra mile for our customers.
That's why it's great to hear an existing customer recommend us to a new customer!
Thanks Lewis Blount from Flowstar Ltd, it means a lot!
Weight Saving Thanks to LW-TS414! "Thanks to the new (LW-TS414) lightweight pressure regulator, we have managed to reduce the total weight of (our) hydrogen system by 0.5kg!" Green Team Twente from the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences.
The Pressure Tech lightweight and two-stage LW-TS414 was originally created in 2020 specifically for university teams entering the Shell Eco-Marathon competition.
It became apparent that a two-stage regulator, offering even greater precision on the outlet would offer robust protection of the hydrogen fuel cell.
Its lightweight aluminium body was also a ‘must have’ feature. In an application where every gram added to the vehicle would result in slower track times and reduced efficiency, ensuring the LW-TS414’s weight was kept to a minimum was essential.
And that's exactly what we created!
Pressure Tech LW-TS414 lightweight, two-stage pressure regulator for hydrogen fuel cell applications.

TPED Certified CV414-SC Cylinder Valve We are excited to announce TPED 2010/35/EU certification on our CV414-SC cylinder valve!
The news follows months of dedicated research, testing and development by Pressure Tech’s in-house design team, and is a great extension to our pressure regulators designed for use on hydrogen fuel cell applications!
The CV414-SC is a self-closing cylinder valve for high pressure gas systems, featuring a quick and simple disconnect feature. When connected, the valve provides a continual gas supply to the system. If a cylinder refill or change is required, the CV414-SC's low torque design means it is easy for users to disconnect the cylinder and valve from the regulator to isolate the gas supply, even under high pressure - the valve remains attached to the gas cylinder. Plus, as an optional extra, a burst disc may be added to offer additional gas cylinder protection. The TPED certification allows its use on applications involving the transportation of pressure equipment up to 350 bar (5,075 psi).

Why Did Corrosion and Nesting Bees Lead to the Development of Our Protective Sleeve? Why did corrosion of the regulator’s internal mechanism and nesting bees lead to the development of our PT-C-180 Protective Sleeve?
PT-C-180 Protective Sleeve
By design, a regulator’s bonnet features a ‘key slot’ opening which is necessary for the correct operation of its adjusting mechanism. Consequently, this opening leaves the internal components exposed to external conditions - in certain environments this can be particularly problematic. In offshore and other locations close to the sea, the salt content in the air is high which can potentially result in a crystal build-up on the adjusting screw and accelerate corrosion of the loading spring. In one instance we were also told of bees building a nest inside the regulator!
This meant that we needed to design something that could not only close the slot, but was simple in application, reusable, long-lasting and, ideally, environmentally-friendly.
Our senior design engineer, Karol Wolniewicz, is a keen scuba diver and used his experience to explore the option of utilising a rubber sleeve to create a ‘dry seal’ between the bonnet and band. Initially we experimented with trialling heat shrink tubes and sections of dry suit cuffs to test which gave better results. The heat shrink didn’t perform sufficiently and also wasn’t reusable. The dry suit cuffs, however, seemed perfect for the application.
We successfully located a manufacturer who was able to supply them to our specification, allowing us to offer our PT-C-180 Protective Sleeve to customers across the world and prevent those issues that were first identified in some of the more challenging environments from happening.
Our Protective Sleeve meets all of the criteria we initially set out to achieve; it offers excellent ozone, UV and chemical resistance in a range of temperatures from as low as -50°C right up to +1
10°C, and is 100% recyclable.

Pressure Tech at Subsea Expo 2016 This February 3rd - 5th, Pressure Tech will be exhibiting at the Subsea Expo (AECC) in Aberdeen for the first time.
Pressure Tech is one of the industry’s leading manufacturers of pressure regulators. Over the last fifteen years, we have developed an extensive range of high quality brass and stainless steel regulators. Our success has been attributed to our focus on technology and innovative products, working closely with customers to design and manufacture a wealth of new products that provide accurate pressure control to systems. This can be seen in our vast range of Pressure Regulators, some of which will be presented at the exhibition on our Stand(stand 5).
Designed to operate subsea at depths up to 3000m (10,000ft), these regulators can either use the external seawater pressure as a reference pressure or be completely sealed to operate at topside ambient pressure conditions, thus are completely unaffected by external pressure conditions. A version of the regulator is also available with a 'bucket handle' to allow subsea adjustment by ROVs.
Based on our well-established range of stainless steel regulators, our range of brass regulators are cleaned and degreased within the guidelines of ASTM G93 for equipment used in oxygen-enriched environments, and intended for use on critical life support or hyperbaric diving applications, where accurate control and high cleanliness is required for breathing systems. Typically in hyperbaric and decompression chambers and on breathing air analyser systems.
Having such an extensive range allows us to offer a complete package to a wide range of customers. Click for our overview or get in touch with our Regional Sales Engineer, Andy Carruthers, at email@example.com
We look forward to seeing you at the show and will be available to discuss any applications, pressure control problems or anything else you need to know!

Pressure Tech achieve ATEX / IECEx Certification for XHR300 Building on our current product certification, Pressure Tech is pleased to announce that we have now achieved ATEX/IECEx certification on our XHR300/XHR301 regulators.
The XHR series boasts a unique dual heating design with twin 100W inlet and outlet heating probes inserted directly into the flow path to help maintain saturated gases in their vaporised form. This gives the double benefit of reduced volume and improved heat transfer for the greatest possible efficiency. The new electronic controller also allows the power supply to be independently isolated to each heater.
In achieving certification on the XHR300 product series, you can be assured that when you choose Pressure Tech you are choosing quality and reliability. Certification ensures that our regulators are fit for their intended purpose and that adequate information is supplied to ensure that they can be used safely.
Proven to perform better....
The Inconel X750 diaphragm used on all our analyser product range lasts 150% longer than 316SS, proven to perform better due to its chemical and mechanical properties. The sealing area is recessed and protected inside the body of the regulator meaning the diaphragm is always centrally located.
Our 'single stage' and 'two stage' diaphragm sensed regulators are typically available within a 2-3 week delivery timescale.
Flexible configuration - order easily through our website.....
Pressure Tech's comprehensive E-Commerce facility on our website, allows complete flexibility to configure the XHR300 products to bespoke requirements, obtain immediate online quotes and place direct orders at the click of a button.
Pressure Tech Installs new ISO8 Clean Room Pressure Tech is constantly looking at new ways to respond to our customer's high expectations. We have many customers who require specialised services, in particular those who work in the commercial subsea diving sector and medical hyperbaric chambers. These organisations need specific cleaning services to ensure contaminants are avoided and eliminated where equipment is used in oxygen rich environments. As such, Pressure Tech has invested in a four stage solvent degreasing system to ensure parts are cleaned within the guidelines of ASTM G93. The cleaning process and subsequent assembly of products are all performed in our newly installed ISO8 clean room to ensure ultimate cleanliness levels are achieved.
As specialists in the production of high quality equipment within the commercial diving sector, we understand the importance of providing a clean room environment, which is certified to a low level of pollutants. Many of our customers require specific cleaning processes for equipment such as valves and regulators, particularly where high levels of Oxygen are present. The understanding of oxygen's reactivity has led to strict regulations regarding the cleanliness of equipment used in an oxygen service. Although Oxygen is not flammable itself, it supports combustion. The higher the oxygen content and/or pressure in a system, the more vigorous the potential combustion, so care must be taken to ensure equipment is free from contaminants such as hydrocarbon oils and greases, which oxidise with the Oxygen and can cause the source of ignition.
ASTM G93 is an industry recognised practice that provides a "selection of methods and apparatus for the cleaning of materials and equipment intended for service in oxygen enriched environments". Whilst Trichloroethylene was always recognised as the most effective means of cleaning parts to this standard, the health and environmental issues associated with "Trike" have led to the development on new alternative solvents such as Novec™ 71DE.
Parts are cleaned initially by immersing in the 71DE solvent at boiling point before being transferred to a further immersion in an ultrasonic tank and a final drying process in the vapour phase, ensuring all parts are cleaned and dry prior to use on Oxygen service.
In addition to cleaning our own parts, Pressure Tech are able to offer a subcontract cleaning service to all our customers who require cleaning of parts for use on Oxygen service. Please contact us today to use our cleaning and clean room facilities at a competitive rate - firstname.lastname@example.org.
All part of the service! Following written instructions to service any technical product can be difficult to follow and can lead to misinterpretation if not followed correctly. Whilst Pressure Tech provide complimentary 'on site training' to qualify technicians* when requested, it's useful to have practical reminders on servicing of pressure regulators from our vast range of products.
To help support our customers needs with after sales servicing, Pressure Tech have started to develop a library of "How to Service" videos, which take the qualified technician* through a refresher 'step by step' process on how to assemble the regulators in the correct manner when servicing in situ.
This unique and innovative approach to helping qualified technicians* service regulators in a structured and reliable manner, helps prevent costly mistakes being made out in the field.
* Contact the UK Pressure Tech head office to arrange your technicians to be qualified in servicing the Pressure Tech regulators.
Hydraulic Test Rig installed Pressure Tech have commissioned a new hydraulic test rig that provides flow rates to 10lpm (2GPM) with pressures up to 690bar (10,000psi). Hydrostatic tests can be performed up to 1380bar (20,000psi). The inclusion of a hyperbaric chamber allows subsea regulators to be tested to simulated sea depths of 3000m (10,000ft).
Patented High Flow Regulators Launched Pressure Tech are pleased to release details of a unique range of high flow pressure regulators that fit within the internal diameter of the pipework and provide excellent pressure reduction control on pipelines over 4" diameter. The patented design involves five components, of which only one is dynamic, and the overall size is typically 50% lighter than other typical pressure regulator designs.
The outlet pressure setpoint is controlled by an external pilot regulator which ensures typical droop effects are minimised under high flow conditions. Sizes range from Cv 63 for the 4" and Cv 260 for 8"
Pressure Tech showcasing products at leading global event in US Innovative Products
The XHR-300 boasts a unique dual heating design with twin 100W inlet and outlet heating probes inserted directly into the flow path to help maintain saturated gases in their vaporised form. This gives the double benefit of reduced volume and improved accuracy for the greatest possible efficiency.
Also for use in natural gas, oxygen and moisture sample systems, the XHS-300 is a more economical product, perfect for less critical applications. It utilises a single 100W heater cartridge in a specially designed spiral sheath to maximise heat transfer in the flow path and maintain sample gases in their vapour state. Depending on the application and space available, there are two entry options to minimise height where necessary.
The LF-300 is a single stage regulator with some truly unique features integrated into the design. Created with quality and reliability always to the forefront, and after extensive analysis and tests, the resulting fully supported Inconel X750 diaphragm lasts 50% longer than typical stainless steel designs, vastly cutting the cost and time of maintenance and replacement. It also features an innovative seat design which minimizes the risk of leakage caused by contamination.
Pressure Tech’s Pittcon stand will also demonstrate the company’s flexible approach and unrivalled ability to supply complete packages to meet specific needs, including two-stage regulators and regulator assemblies, and auto changeover panels. The team hopes to welcome as many people as possible to Booth 331.
